TO OUR DEAR PATIENTS AND FAMILIES DURING THIS CORONAVIRUS HEALTH CRISIS,
All of us at Dolphin Pediatrics hope everyone is safe. Children and young adults have an important role in stopping the spread of
#COVID19, keeping those who are most vulnerable from getting sick.
We all are responsible for protecting those at higher risk!
We are also very concerned about the possibility of future health problems. If our babies and small children stop getting their vaccines they can be at risk of contracting diseases that do target them and put them at very high risk of mortality and permanent illness (meningitis, polio, tetanus, whooping cough, diphtheria, etc.), so in keeping with this:
1.- We encourage all our patients less than 2 years of age and specially our infants to come for their healthy visits and received their vaccinations as per American Academy of Pediatric guidelines.
Is it safe to come to the office?: Per our new protocol, we are making these visits as safe as possible by scheduling ONLY well children in the mornings (no sick patients), we closed our waiting rooms and are making parents wait in their cars until we have a thoroughly cleaned room available, and both for their protection and ours, our nurses and doctors must wear protective gear.
We ask that only one healthy parents accompanies the patient for any given visit.
2.- We are currently also seeing our older than 2 yrs patients for well visits and the same rules apply.
3.- We are aware that many pediatricians’ offices have stopped seeing sick patients, we are committed to our patients and will see sick patients as much as possible because we do not believe minor illnesses should be sent to urgent care or emergency rooms where they could be more exposed . There will be a screening process following CDC guidelines but we are here to help.
We cannot accept walk-ins because they need to be screened so please call our office ahead and we will get you an appointment. Sick patients will be scheduled in the afternoon only and the same protocol for waiting/safety will apply.
